The MCO (Maintien en Conditions Opérationnelles) team is in charge of maintaining the Paris Observatory - PSL instrument fleet. This represents a fleet of around ten instruments and domes to be maintained, some of which are used for practical work in bachelor’s and master’s courses. These instruments must always be operational. That’s our raison d’être !

This multi-skilled team (mechanics, electrical engineering, optics...) carries out all this work with the help of several specialized subcontractors, such as rope access technicians.
Maintaining the Observatoire de Paris-PSL’s heritage involves working on recent instruments, such as the prototype telescope for the CTA network, as well as older instruments, in order to keep them in working order, give them a tour and...observe the sky with them.
